Hi, what would be the way to add rocks on top of an eroded surface?
I’ll add a simple setup. With the blend modes the eroded lines always show up over the placed rocks.

Edit: nevermind, I managed to fix it with a mask.
If anyone has ideas on how simulate a landscape with soft and hard rocks please let me know.
You could also try a multi /debris pass

The layers of rock give your erosion passes more detail each round to apply their own processing effects to.
/shatter can also be useful to break up symmetry
Thanks Ty! Yes those will be very useful.
I’m trying to make a setup for an Icelandic type of volcano. They have these patches where soil has slipped off and exposing the rock below. And there’s some rocks poking out of the shape. It’s a blend of loose volcanic soil with it’s erosion patterns and hard rock between that.

Hi Ty,
More like these type of volcanoes.
I mapped outcrops on a base shape. With SlopeBlur it looks a bit like some harder rock above some loose soil. But the SlopeBlur only creates the ‘rocks’ on the inward slopes of the outcrops. So they remain small and I don’t seem to able to easily adust it for bigger rock formations. And the SlopeBlur also creates a fading pattern above these ‘rocks’.
