I would like to suggest a histogram tool / window.
Probably the fault of my monitor, but I have a difficult time discerning values at the high and low end of the value range, especially in black and white. A histogram window would help me check value distribution which would be most helpful to me when texturing, to make sure I am taking advantage of the full value range.
The spectrum mask view is the most helpful way to visualize the value range, but I would still like to see the distribution.
