Hey there!
I recently discovered Gaea after working in Blender for some time, and I want to say thanks for such awesome software. I am on the newbie side, but can already do some cool things. ![]()
I watched YouTube videos made by guys from Quadspinner, and they were quite easy to follow. Now, making something from scratch is not that easy, though. I found some pictures from Iceland, which I assume is an old glacier. I did make something that resembles a general shape, but I got stuck. Particularly, I am having trouble with the valleys where water flows. In my example, I approached this scene by applying Gabor → Warp → Erosion2, and then Clipping at the bottom. At first, this clip gives a very nice transition (at least it looks like to me) between the mountain and the valley. However, as I start adding more details, like rivers or other forms of erosion, this flat area gets details I do not want, like sediments. Additionally, variations in Gabor do not always reach the minimum value, which creates additional obstacles when I try to make the valleys. I can compensate for the unwanted details by applying Clip one more time, but then it gets very repetitive, which seems wrong.
So, my question is, does anyone have any ideas how I can approach this scene?
Thanks!
