Hey @OlaHaldor, good seeing you here.
Gaea 3 production is still happening in the background. The roadmap dates are currently misaligned, but that does not mean the deliverables themselves have changed.
This is fairly normal with a public-facing static roadmap, because a lot can shift during active development. Building a roadmap that is both fully transparent and dynamically accurate is difficult, especially when timelines can move while the actual goals remain the same.
Progress is continuing on Gaea 3, and there has also been additional activity around Gaea 2 in parallel.
For example, Gaea 2 has had draw improvement updates, Bleeding Edge branch updates have reopened ( this is where we’re currently at) and some features from Gaea 3 have been ported back into Gaea 2, such as the new transform gizmo.
On the support side, the Gaea 2 docs have also been receiving major updates and refinements from myself, Dax, and Parvez. Alongside that, Maarten has been contributing node-based videos and terrain example files on YouTube and here in the community respectively.
All of these efforts are part of supporting users at every level and better connecting the software, documentation, YouTube content, and community resources.
My advice with the static roadmap would be to treat the timeline dates
as fluid, but the goals as the current direction. The “when” may shift, but the “where” remains the same.
As for more announcements like user testing and showcases on Gaea 3, those will come in due time when the team is ready to market and present them properly.
I hope that helps, and quells any concerns you may have.
