Wind equivalent to the flow node

Going to port from my discord suggestion:

I’m currently attempting (and struggling) to add some spots where it looks like wind blew sand from some nearby dunes and i for the life of me cannot get it to look good and i currently have a spiderweb of nodes.

It would be a lot easier to achieve something like this if there was a node similar to ColorErosion that shows where a wind current would leave the most dust (similar to how ColorErosion shows where water currents would leave the most sediment). I can also imagine this being useful for other scenarios, like general texturing when you just want your landscape to look particularly windswept or maybe even erosion.

A few additional things:

  • At the time I wrote this, I thought ColorErosion was meant for texturing purposes (like, you plug it into supercolor/satmap along with other things), I have since figured out that it is meant moreso for color blending.

The new Sand Simulation in Gaea 3 is meant to do exactly this. Not only will you be able to add sand here and there, you can get some interesting masks to work with as well.
